Kathy Smith (born 1963) is an Australian independent filmmaker, painter, photographer, and Associate Professor with the John C. Hench Division of Animation and Digital Arts (DADA), USC School of Cinematic Arts.〔Julius Wiedemann,(ed.) "Kathy Smith." ''Animation Now!'' Shortly after graduation, she was awarded the Sydney Morning Herald Traveling Arts Scholarship for Painting. She received the Desiderius Orban Art Award in 1986.
